This initiative highlights the relationship between museums and research, promoting innovative approaches in knowledge creation within the museum context. Through interdisciplinary collaborations and the use of innovative methodologies such as arts-based research, the Research Center aims to foster collaboration, co-creation, and research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The following open calls are supported by the alliance with researcher Susana Vargas Mejia and the New Frontiers in Research Fund from the Government of Canada. Through these open calls to both national and international audiences, we aim to expand the reach of the MAMBO Collection and improve its accessibility, with the purpose of enriching perspectives that contribute to the museum&#8217;s knowledge construction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Each residency lasted from 3 to 4 months, offering flexibility for residents to adjust their schedules and complete their projects. The first edition began in August and extended until November 2024, during which residents developed their research-creation projects, encompassing processes of exploration, experimentation, and production.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Participants received a grant of 3,000,000 COP for their research-creation, sponsored by the New Frontiers in Research Fund of the Government of Canada in collaboration with Susana Vargas-Mej\u00eda.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The residencies focused on using the MAMBO Collection and\/or the exhibition program as a primary resource for research and its relationship with digital tools\/media.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The first edition offered the following residencies: digital, research, and curating.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The call for applications for the residencies was open from July 8 to 19, 2024. A total of 184 applications and proposals were received from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Spain, the United States, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Switzerland, Uruguay, and Venezuela, from undergraduate and graduate students, artists, art historians, writers, designers, audiovisual creators, journalists, social communicators, anthropologists, philosophers, educators, curators, architects, musicians, sociologists, political scientists, archaeologists, conservators, and cultural managers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The jury for the first edition of the residency call consisted of Eugenio Viola, Artistic Director of the Museum of Modern Art of Bogot\u00e1; Juaniko Moreno, Curator of MAMBO; Susana Vargas-Mej\u00eda, Coordinator of the MAMBO Research Center; and Elly Yazdanpanah, Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of British Columbia (Canada), whose practice explores cultural identity, museum practices, and public art.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_3,1_3,1_3&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.2&#8243; aspects related to digital tools and their application in museums, the digitization of collections and archives, the study of the MAMBO Collection, and the digital practices associated with
